John Summerlin

Need an experienced producer/director?

Whether your project calls for a cool-under-pressure director of live, multi-camera broadcasts, or a mature producer who’s as adept at working with high school students as celebrities, Summerlin delivers. Perhaps best of all, with many years working in corporate communications, Summerlin is particularly adept at producing multi-layered coverage of live events where several components must happen simultaneously, and failure is not an option. That said, he produces for your budget: big or small – for a day or a week or a month.

He opened The Summerlin Group in 2005, handling projects for former employers, clients and new clients, then re-incorporated the company in California after moving there in 2006.

Summerlin was previously Director of Production at Vidicom in New York, where he oversaw all production work including Video News Releases, Satellite Media Tours, B-Roll packages and Radio News Releases. In addition, he produced APPLEVISION and CHICAGOVISION, two monthly half-hour shows playing in upscale hotels in New York and Chicago.

Prior to that, Summerlin came up through the ranks at WestGlen Communications in New York – from production assistant all the way to Senior Vice President of Production – where he was responsible for maintaining major client relationships, producing/ directing/ writing live and taped projects, ensuring profitability through Open-Book Management, working with celebrities, overseeing video editing & duplication facilities, and doing voice-overs.
